E.H.M.A. actively supports hotel schools and has developed partnerships with prestigious institutions such as the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, the Glion Institute of Higher Education, Cornell University, Stenden University. In 1986 the late Honorary President of the EHMA, Dario dell'Antonia, had the idea to set up an annual award to particularly deserving students of the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne and of the Glion Institute of Higher Education, both highly renowned Hotel Management Institutes in Switzerland. Both prizes have been renamed in honour of the late EHMA Founder and First President of the Association, Nadio Benedetti, and in honour of the late Honorary President, Dario dell'Antonia. The EHMA prize comprises a certificate signed by the EHMA President, a book on Luxury Hotels and, most importantly, a practical training of approximately three weeks shadowing senior management (department heads), under the overall supervision of its General Manager /EHMA member). The elected students of the past awards have all successfully completed their training and were found to be extremely promising by all EHMA General Managers who accepted them. Since 2006 Cornell University is present at EHMA's General Meetings as supporting partner granting 3-course seats for their PDP in Brussels. Also a close collaboration has been established with Stenden University in The Netherlands (former CHN) who participates in the General Meetings by annualy presenting a book on "Profiles in Hospitality Management". |
